Concrete & Masonry Construction Products – May 2006
Kryton International’s Krystol™ Waterstop System has been recognized with a Most Innovative Product (MIP) award (Building Systems and Materials category) from Hanley Wood and the World of Concrete 2006 Most Innovative Products competition.
The Krystol Waterstop System replaces conventional waterstop barriers, saving construction time and costs while providing two lines of defense to protect construction joints. The system offers a number of benefits over conventional barrier systems:
- – It’s easier and faster to install, saving construction time and labor costs and reducing the requirement for skilled trades.
- – There are no requirements for specialized equipment and no need to prime concrete surfaces.
- – Material and labor costs are considerably less than PVC, bentonite and other waterstop systems.
- – Unlike PVC or bentonite, Krystol won’t deteriorate over time – its waterproofing protection lasts the lifetime of the structure.
- – Because the Krystol Waterstop System provides a chemical barrier in addition to a physical barrier, waterproofing is not compromised even if the application is chipped or damaged.
This is Kryton’s second Most Innovative Products award – Krystol™ Internal Membrane (KIM™) received an Expert’s Choice award for Most Innovative Product in 2003.
