Vancouver, B.C. – (October 27, 2009) – Kryton Group of Companies is advancing its role in the Chinese housing market thanks to a renewed partnership with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
CMHC has had a presence in China for more than a decade. In 1999, CMHC signed a memorandum of understanding to assist China in revising its building codes and bringing them up to international standards. Kryton first partnered with CMHC in 2006 to support its market development strategy in China. Since the partnership began, Kryton has worked with CMHC to bring Canadian construction technology overseas.
“The renewal of our partnership with CMHC allows Kryton to broaden its network in China and across the globe,” says Kevin Davis, Director of Sales for Kryton. “We both benefit from each other’s resources, brands and established programs.”
For the remainder of 2009 and into 2010, Kryton will participate in programs and seminars hosted by CMHC and industry partners. The programs are designed to bring value to property owners and developers as well as the specifier community in China. For example, on November 12, Kryton will participate in a seminar in Beijing on energy efficient building technology and design services.
As Canada’s national housing agency, CMHC draws on more than 60 years of experience to help Canadians access a variety of quality, environmentally sustainable, and affordable homes – homes that will continue to create vibrant and healthy communities and cities across the country.
“CMHC International works to link the Canadian housing industry to the world,” says Elizabeth Tang, senior trade consultant, CMHC BC Region. “Working closely with the housing industry and partners, CMHC International helps Canadian companies such as Kryton find export opportunities in selected high potential markets. This also helps us to provide our international clients with world-class housing products, materials, services and expertise.”
In recent years, China’s government has made its housing sector a priority, focusing on its modernization, development and growth. This has led to China becoming one of the only countries in the world still seeing economic strength during the downturn. Canada, being the fifth largest market for housing exports, has taken an active role in China’s housing growth.
Kryton was founded in 1973 and has grown to be a multi-million dollar company with offices, distribution partners and manufacturing facilities around the globe. It is a family-run business that employs a team of 75 chemists, engineers and marketing staff worldwide.
