Vancouver, B.C. – (November 30, 2011)
For the fourth consecutive year, Kryton International Inc. has been named one of the Best Companies To Work For In British Columbia. Kryton was named the #1 company to work for in the Manufacturing, Construction and Distribution sector in addition to winning the #3 place in the overall category for companies under 100 employees.
The Best Companies to Work For Awards are organized by BC Business Magazine and MindField Group, and is based on employee feedback. Having participated and placed for four consecutive years, Kryton has used the awards program to better engage and connect with their staff not only in BC, but beyond to other Kryton offices and affiliates around the globe.
President & CEO Kari Yuers was quick to attribute the success to staff. She says “If it wasn’t for all the Krytonites around the world, we really wouldn’t be doing, what we are doing today.” Kari Yuers thanked her father Ron Yuers for starting the company in 1973, and for giving her and brother, Kevin Yuers, VP of Product Development and Technical Services, the opportunity to grow the business into a world-wide leader in the industry. “We have four cornerstones at Kryton and our people pillar is by far our most important one” says Kari Yuers. “It may have been our products that put us on the map, but it is our people that keep us there. We truly believe in programs like these that help businesses create environments where people can thrive. Over the years, the awards program has helped us attract and develop the best talent in the industry, ensuring that we remain as experts in our field. But most importantly, we are just simply honored to know that we are making a difference in the lives of the people that we work alongside each day.”
Kryton offers a myriad of perks in training and development, wellness and social activities. They deep-fry turkeys on Thanksgiving, go white water rafting each summer and enjoy profit sharing. Not to forget the importance of personal growth, Kryton also has learning programs in place to ensure the staff is developing at the same rate as the company is growing. In 2010, Kryton also took home two wins including #1 Company to Work For in the Manufacturing, Construction and Distribution sector, in addition to second place in the Top 10 Overall category. In 2008 and 2009 Kryton was among the top 10 employers in BC with less than 100 employees.
