Vancouver, BC (December 19, 2014) – Kryton International Inc.’s President & CEO, Kari Yuers presented Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver’s Director of Fund Development, Stephani Samaridis a cheque for over $9,000.
Kryton’s fundraising efforts pitted the men against the women, with the women coming out on-top by the slimmest of margins, which meant the men serenaded the women with a rendition of ’12 days of Christmas’ at the annual Christmas Party last week.
Not only has Kryton been raising funds throughout the year for Habitat for Humanity, but have also contributed different materials and items for the ReStore centres. The ReStore sells new and gently-used home decor items and building materials at a great discount to the community. All proceeds fund Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver’s operations, and help build homes in our community.
With 1 in 4 children in Vancouver living in poverty and 75,000 families in Greater Vancouver with a core housing need, the need is considerable and it is only through community partners that Habitat for Humanity is able to have an impact in the area.
Samaridis is grateful to organizations like Kryton within the community that take the time and effort to come up with a contribution for their cause.
“Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver is grateful for the generosity of Kryton and its team for supporting our work in ending the cycle of poverty for hard working families in our community,” Samaridis says. “All donations from community partners directly contribute to the building of homes locally as all overhead and administration expenses are covered by our ReStore operation.”
Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver is continuing to move forward and will be continuing growth in the region during the 2015 year. The organization will be breaking ground on 6 new homes in Richmond, each with a rental suite, for 12 new Habitat Partner Families. If you are looking for a holiday charity to give to this year, you can donate at the website (habitatgv.ca) or call the main office at 604-681-5618.
