Krystol Assurance Program Projects

700 West 8th Building

When constructing the 700 West 8th building, the owner, Westbank Corp., faced two main challenges: their building would be in a tight location and it would be in the path of continuous run-off. They needed concrete waterproofing that wouldn’t take up space and could reliably block the oncoming water. That’s why they chose Kryton’s Krystol Internal Membrane™ (KIM®) with the added reassurance from KAP. That allowed them to confidently waterproof the project’s below grade concrete on time under a fast-paced schedule.

Georgetown Upgrade

The City of Toronto planned to waterproof a 500-meter (1,641-foot) sewage tunnel and its ventilation shafts, and they wanted to ensure it would remain watertight. KAP made that possible. With KAP, they were guaranteed that the tunnel would remain leak-free for at least five years after completion. They also had access to expert help with applying KIM and the Krystol® Waterstop System, ensuring that the concrete of the tunnel and any joints it and its ventilation shafts had would be safe from water ingress.

YVR Pier D Expansion

To accommodate the increase in passengers at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR), the Vancouver Airport Authority decided to expand the terminal. Being close to sea level, it would need significant waterproofing protection. So the airport authority went with KIM and the Krystol Waterstop System and added KAP. That made their work a success as they had a thorough design review, on-site training and inspections, and a 10-year material and labor warranty for support.
