A. Duie Pyle is the premier transportation and logistics provider in the northeastern part of the United States of America (USA). As a result, they can offer multiple integrated services for both transportation and distribution. To back those services up, they make use of their 24 less-than-truckload service centers alongside 11 warehouse facilities. That allows them to run thousands of trucks to destinations across the USA and Canada. All of which rely on A. Duie Pyle’s truck terminals to provide reliable and round-the-clock services.
However, those terminals had troubles with deteriorating concrete floors. A. Duie Pyle had tried multiple surface-applied concrete hardening solutions in hopes of resolving the issue. But none of them had been effective at preventing the concrete floors from deteriorating. The liquid densifier solutions required constant maintenance, and the dry shake hardening solutions were time-consuming, difficult to install, and hazardous as they exposed the worksite to harmful silica dust.
That’s why A. Duie Pyle had another plan in mind for their newest truck terminal in Albany, New York. For that terminal’s floors, they wanted a concrete durability solution that would provide full-depth uniform hardening and protect concrete from abrasion.
Since the primary purpose of the concrete hardening solution was to make the new terminal’s floors resistant to abrasion from vehicular traffic, Gregory Maugeri, CEO of Dry Concrete L.L.C., recommended Hard-Cem. Added directly to the concrete mix at the time of batching, it offers full-depth hardening as an integral concrete hardening admixture.
By becoming an integral part of the concrete structure, Hard-Cem is able to continue providing abrasion resistance for the life of the structure. And by avoiding the need for maintenance that liquid densifiers have and the usual steps required to install dry shake hardeners, Hard-Cem speeds up and simplifies construction. That enabled A. Duie Pyle to keep their terminal operational instead of having to close down for regular maintenance. And in the end, with Gregory’s incredible support and commitment to customer service, A. Duie Pyle’s new terminal floor was poured right on schedule.
